Drop OCT - Ken and Leon reference

Character references to go along with my audition comic ( [link] ) for
See you in the toruney!

Personality traits for Ken:

- Loud and sometimes whiny, the more rash and ready to fight of the pair.

- Although always ready to fight, not actually one to look for fights. He would prefer to lead a quiet and lazy life if at all possible. (Although he may not be able to get acclimated to a quiet life if he managed to find one.)

- When presented with a problem, first thought is to solve it with fists, mainly because that is a solution he can begin enacting immediately).

- After being orphaned, he was informally adopted by a group of scavengers.

- In the scavenger group, he was treated as the youngest. Picked up his loud personality in order to be heard at all.

- After being treated as the youngest for so long, he initially took a shining to Leon because he seemed like someone Ken could be an older brother to. After seeing Leon's intelligence shine forth, came to accept his as a peer and not someone Ken was responsible for. (Subconsciously, Ken still sees them in older / younger brother terms.)

- Living with the group also got him used to a life of constant movement and struggle. He is good at finding interesting things, but will generally only keep things that are easy to carry or too useful to leave behind.

- The emblem on his bag is a symbol the scavengers rallied under, "the searching hand". Although the group has been scattered (and generally make themselves hard to find), he continues to hold up the emblem in case any group members appear, and for what it stands for ("Our hand works to find what we need to survive, and it reaches out to help others in need.").

Personality traits for Leon:

- Quiet, but not soft in will. Has far more goals for the future than Ken does, and wants them more, but he never considered that they could become reality before he met Ken.

- Is no more than a year younger then Ken, but looks as there there are at least 2 - 3 years between them.

- When orphaned, he was able to find shelter in quiet places: churches, libraries, occasional schools.

- Became an avid reader because of these places. Also has picked up an affinity for writing. He tries to write as much as he can in order to get better at it. If he had an easier life, he would likely have become an author.

- The wrench he keeps with him was a gift given to him by an elderly mechanic who took him in for a while. It was while living with this man he learned much of his mechanical / tinkering / scientific background. When the mechanic died, he was forced to move on, but has kept that wrench close to him.

- When Ken brings in stuff from a scavenge, Leon is usually able to take some of the things Ken discards and tinkers with them until they become something cool.

DOUBLE TRAITS:

- Leon handles the computer stuff. He is better with physical machines (that involve gears and levers and such), but when Ken tries to use computers nothing gets accomplished.

- The share the same goal: They just want to have a space where they live peacefully and don't constantly have to work to survive. They realize they won't be able to live comfortably with the responsibility of the gems in their laps, but they look forward to using the rumored power of the gems to make that dream come true one day.
